A Calgary child is in critical condition after they were struck by a vehicle while sledding in the city’s northeast on Tuesday.
According to a Calgary Police Service spokesperson, witnesses said the child was sledding on the snow when they slid into the path of a moving vehicle.
Police said the accident happened in the area of Marlyn Place and Marlyn Way Northeast at around 5:30 p.m.
The child was sent to hospital in life-threatening condition. Neither the gender nor the age of the child is known at this time.
The CPS said the vehicle stayed on scene and officers are speaking to witnesses while the traffic unit has taken over the investigation.
